Paste the paragraph where you stopped. It becomes a chapter in Muses, the AI writes the next few paragraphs after it, and you keep only the ones that fit.

Story in Progress
The farmhouse should have been dark. Dad had been gone eleven days, and the only key was in June’s pocket. But a light was on in the kitchen, and someone had shoveled the porch steps.
+
She switched off the engine and sat with both hands on the wheel. The snow on the steps had been cut clean and square, the way Dad always did it, shovel turned on its edge for the corners.
+
She took the steps two at a time and shoved the door open. “Who’s there?” The kitchen was warm. A pot of coffee sat on the stove, still steaming.

At the door she stopped. Through the glass she could see two mugs set out on the kitchen table. Somewhere inside, a radio was playing. She put her hand on the knob, took it away, then put it back.

She opened the door. The radio was tuned to the station Dad liked, the one that only came in clear after dark, when the hills stopped getting in the way.

02·What it does
What happens after your last line
01
Picks up from your last line
The AI reads the chapter you’re in, then writes the next few paragraphs into the chapter itself, right after your passage, working from the names, tense and point of view already on the page. There’s nothing to copy back.
02
You choose what stays
Each new paragraph has its own accept and reject. Keep the ones that fit, drop the rest, or ask for another take: “slower,” “more dialogue,” “she wouldn’t say that.” Your own sentences change only when you accept a change.
03
Then keep going with Tab
When you’d rather write the next part yourself, nothing pops up on its own. Press Tab, and faint text suggests the end of your sentence, or a few sentences on an empty line. Keep typing and it disappears.
03·FAQ
Before you paste your story
What happens after I paste my passage?
Sign in or create an account, and your passage becomes the first chapter of a new story project in Muses. The AI reads it and writes the next few paragraphs right after your last line, each one marked for you to accept or reject. To steer it, say what you want in the chat beside the chapter: slower, more dialogue, a different turn.
How much of my story can I paste?
Here, a short passage: the last paragraph or two, which is usually enough to pick up a scene. Once you’re signed in, you can paste more straight into the chapter, or bring earlier chapters into the same project from the Muses home page by importing a folder or a ZIP of DOCX, TXT or Markdown files.
Will the AI change what I already wrote?
Not unless you accept it. New paragraphs go after your passage, and your own text stays as it is. If you ask the AI to rework a line you wrote, the change is marked in place for you to accept or reject. Each time you finish reviewing, the chapter saves a version you can go back to.
Will it keep my characters, tense and voice?
It works from more than one paragraph: when the chat starts, the AI reads the whole chapter you’re in. Your other chapters and notes aren’t loaded automatically. The AI can open them when it needs to, and it helps to point it there, for example “check chapter two for how they met.” Consistency isn’t guaranteed, so read each paragraph before you keep it.
Do I need an account? What does it cost?
You can paste your passage here before signing in; you’ll need an account to open the chapter and use the AI. The free plan includes a monthly AI allowance, which both the chat and Tab draw on, and paid plans include more. The Pricing page has current details for each plan.
How does Tab work, and can I use it on a phone?
Press Tab on its own where you want the text to go on. In a paragraph you’ve started, it suggests the rest of the sentence; on an empty line, two to four sentences, in faint text. Space or Enter keeps it; Esc or typing drops it, and Tab again tries a different one. It works from the paragraphs near your cursor, so it’s better for the next line than the next plot turn. Most phone keyboards have no Tab key, so on a phone, ask in the chat instead.
Can my story be in another language?
Yes. The AI answers in the language you write to it in. Your chat opens with a short request in English, so if your story is in another language, write your next message in that language, and if a paragraph comes back in English, reject it and ask again. The Muses interface itself comes in nine languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, French and German.
Who owns the story, and is my writing used to train AI?
You do. Under Muses’ terms, what you write stays yours, and so does the text the AI writes for you. Muses does not use your writing or your conversations to train AI models. If you’d rather the Muses team didn’t review your AI conversations to improve the product, turn off “Allow conversation review” in your Profile. Muses does not guarantee originality, non-infringement, or copyright eligibility.
Pick your story back up
Paste the paragraph you stopped on. After you sign in, the AI writes what comes next into your chapter for you to keep or reject, and Tab is there when you’d rather write on yourself.
